I want to shout out to everyone suffering through grief, carers burdened to the point of exhaustion, people with chronic pain or illness, parents fighting their own battles, depressed or suicidal people, those in challenging or distorted relationships, or anyone finding life difficult to navigate for any reason at all. I see you.
I know I have shared my pain and experiences in the hope of encouraging someone who is in despair. I also write about the things that have helped me and the solutions that have moved me forward. Still, I want to acknowledge that not everyone is in a place where they are capable of any forward momentum right now. We do not operate on a level playing field.
There will be light when the skies clear a little, and you can lift your head above the current suffering. The light is only visible because of the darkness you have found yourself experiencing.
Just as a candle will make very little impact in a sun-filled room but will shed light over everything in a dark room; so, peace will also impact us profoundly if we have previously walked through suffering.
If you are not in a place where you can implement ‘helpful’ solutions, that is okay. If getting up today is your one achievement, I applaud you. If you haven’t been able to escape the confines of your bed – you are still enough. If you are not sure how you are going to keep on moving, call out for help.
Find someone who can help lighten your load, even if just a little and remember there is a season for everything.
